If you live in a rented property that is owned by A2 Dominion, both yourself and your landlord are legally obligated ensure that the property is kept to a reasonable standard of living. Whilst you are responsible for the upkeep of the property on a day-to-day basis, A2 dominion are expected to carry out any necessary maintenance and/or repairs on your home, throughout the course of your tenancy. This maintenance will include:
- Ensuring that you and your family have access to gas and electricity, as well as hot water and heating
- Structural repairs to ensure that the property is considered safe in the eyes of the law
- Ensuring that the property is damp-free, and tenants have adequate access to sinks, toilets and drainage
- Pest control (if necessary)

Issues such as rising damp or mould, for example, can cause serious health issues for young children and adults suffering from respiratory conditions – whilst vermin infestation in your rented property can bring with it a host of other health issues.

If you believe that your rented home is an unsafe place for you and your family to live, it is crucial that you report any issues to A2 Dominion as quickly as possible. In an emergency, you can contact A2 Dominion via their website, or call 0800 432 0077 and your landlord will deal with your problem within 24 hours if the repairs are deemed necessary to avoid the risk of injury to people, or damage to buildings and property. If your issue is not urgent, A2 Dominion will respond to your complaint within 20 working days.
