CEL Solicitors are currently pursuing Mercedes as part of a group action. Mercedes are currently under investigation for diesel fraud given the allegation they installed cheat devices to their cars and vans to make it seem as though the vehicles had lower emissions.
In 2018, the German Federal Motor Transport Authority forced a worldwide recall of 774,000 Mercedes vehicles alleged to have had these devices fitted to them. Mercedes in under threat of fine from the German government and the Environmental Protection Agency in the US is also investigating.
These cheat devices affect your fuel bills and maintenance costs, impact the performance of your vehicle and even impact your health due to an increased emission of nitrogen dioxide.
If you bought or leased a Mercedes van or car that was first registered between September 2009 and 2019, then you could be eligible for significant compensation.
