Amy has over 13 years’ experience dealing specifically with housing litigation. A Law graduate from the University of Liverpool and a Masters’ graduate in International Law and Human Rights, she completed the Bar Vocational Course and cross-qualified as a solicitor, joining the roll of solicitors in 2008.
Prior to joining CEL at the beginning of 2018, Amy worked at a small high-street firm which later merged with Stephenson’s Solicitors. There, she dealt with tenant issues such as possession and injunction proceedings, homelessness and housing disrepair. One Court of Appeal case Amy managed set a precedent for anti-social behaviour cases.
At CEL, Amy manages files and a team, as well as leading the company forward on the board of directors. She has had many successes including settling a case for a family of 10 which involved getting them a new kitchen, bathroom and central heating system, all of their repairs carried out as well as £6,000 in compensation plus clearing of their rent arrears. She also achieved £14,000 in compensation for a client who had an inadequate heating system in her flat.
Amy describes her hobbies as cooking, eating and fitness with the former necessitating the latter.
