Reporting housing disrepair to AKSA Homes
AKSA Homes are responsible for making any major repairs needed to their properties. Minor renovations, such as painting indoor walls, are to be carried out by the tenant, and permission may be required. AKSA Homes strive to maintain all properties at a good standard, but if you come across any disrepair that you need the housing association to look at, get in touch with them as soon as possible.
Examples of areas the housing association will repair include:
- Fences and boundary walls
- Guttering, drainage and pipework
- Pathways and other means of access
How do I report disrepair for an AKSA Homes property?
The quickest way to get in touch when reporting disrepair is to call AKSA Homes directly. There is a dedicated line for emergencies, which is 0161 331 2000. This number will connect you to the out of hours team, so you can get help at any time of day or night.
For less urgent issues, there is a separate phone number: 0161 331 2525. This is open Monday – Wednesday 8.30am – 5.00pm, Thursday 8am – 4.30pm, and Friday 8.30am – 4.00pm. It is also possible to report non-urgent repairs through their Facebook page.
How long will it take for AKSA Homes to repair my home?
AKSA Homes categorise repairs based on their urgency. If your property is currently unsafe, and the repair is an emergency, the housing association aim to have a fix in place within 4 hours. Sometimes further work will be needed after the initial repair, which will often be completed within 24 hours. Repairs needed urgently, but which aren’t quite emergencies, will be looked at within 5 days of being requested. Anything considered a routine repair can take up to 28 days to be completed. In both cases, a contractor will visit the property at an agreed date and time.
