With over 10 years’ legal experience in civil litigation working for top 50 UK law firms, Jessica decided to make the leap and open her own ‘people before profits’ law firm in 2016. Her vision was to create a happy place to work that genuinely helped people through the law.

As a female, millennial business owner, Jessica has disrupted the legal industry with her fresh and dynamic approach to running a law firm. You can find Jessica every week in the amphitheatre giving a motivational speech to her team; on the think swing conducting her monthly 121’s and wellness checks with her colleagues; chairing board meetings or behind one of the five bars mixing cocktails and networking.

Jessica believes that happy staff make happy clients, which in turn makes happy profits. Through Jessica’s leadership, CEL has grown significantly in a short space of time, now employing over 65 staff across 9 practice areas.

Jessica is most proud of the professional and personal development of her staff, particularly her trainees and newly qualified solicitors, watching them grow and their careers progress in the firm.

Jessica most enjoys her community work particularly working with local charities and all 4 Liverpool universities mentoring the next generation of lawyers.

Outside of work,  Jessica is a mother of 2 little girls and enjoys spending quality family time with them. She is a yogi and keen collector of modern art. Her favourite piece is by Grayson Perry.  Jessica is a foodie and is very partial to a good tasting menu. Her favourite place to visit is the open opera house in Verona, Italy.

You can listen to Jessica give an open and honest account of her career journey into law on the Legally Speaking podcast.
