Mr Stephens, Leigh – £2,500 compensation
The client, who was disabled and lived alone, had been living in damp and mould as well as defective plasterwork, brickwork and damaged roof tiles.
We spoke to Mr Stephens in February and we settled just 5 months’ later. Not only did we manage to get the necessary repairs made, but we also were able to get necessary changes made to the client’s bedroom plus £2,500 in compensation.
“Throughout my life, I have had to deal with several solicitors for various reasons but never have I had such a professional and personal service. Not only did you keep me in the loop regarding the to-ing and fro-ing of the case but you reassured me at all times that we were right to fight.
I trusted your advice to the extent that you not only won compensation for me but after I agreed the amount, you then went the extra mile by contacting the other side and somehow won an extra £500.
Having an agreed timetable and itemised schedule of works meant I could keep track of the works and have a date to look forward to. When I first contacted the council, they said, “a bit of brickwork pointing” would sort out the problem. Thanks to your persistence they will now have to put the house in good order.
Not only that but you took into account my disability and therefore my need to spend a lot of time in bed, and somehow managed to get my bedroom decorated which means so much to me as I can’t afford it or do it myself.
From first contact to final sign off, I can’t express my gratitude and heartfelt thanks enough.
You really have had a major impact on my life. I can’t imagine anyone could do as much as you have.”
