Staff at CEL Solicitors were recently treated to a delicious banquet of sushi, salad and cake from our very generous clients, Izabela and Pawel Michalowski.
Izabela and Pawel, who are originally from Poland, reached out to CEL Solicitors when their landlord, The Riverside Group, failed to make essential repairs to their property in Bootle, Liverpool.
The council property contained a range of defects including: a hole in the roof which resulted in leaks. This in turn led to damp, mould, rotten skirting boards and wallpaper peeling off the walls which affected multiple rooms including the living room, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom.
Despite reporting the issues to The Riverside Group on multiple occasions, the couple didn’t receive any help from the housing association, so they decided to take legal advice.
Marta, a paralegal at CEL Solicitors who speaks fluent Polish, was able to guide them through the housing disrepair claim process and was successful in securing £2,545.16 compensation in addition to repairs to the property.
So, to say thank you for Marta’s help, Izabela and Pawel popped into the office at lunchtime and put on an incredible spread. It was a wonderful gesture and one that all of the staff at CEL Solicitors were incredibly grateful for.
